The Spartan wrestling team welcomed North Sevier to Castle Dale on Wednesday night. Coming off of the holiday break and eager to get back to work, Emery won 6 of their matches, but at the end came up short 42-27.

Emery had been away from the mat since December 20, and head into the back half of the 2022-2023 season. They can still make some noise as divisional tournaments won’t start until February,

Monty Christiansen at the 106 weight class got things started with a win by pin. Corbin Jensen at 113, Damon Farley at 138 and Greg Suwyn at 190 all earned wins by pin in their respective matches. Dalton Birch at 150 and Boden Christman at 157 both won their matches by decision.

Next up for Emery is the Tournament of Champions this weekend in Vernal.

They will be back on the home mats on January 11 to face Union.
