The Lady Dinos jumped into region play on Tuesday when they traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats. Richfield is always a tough opponent no matter the sport, and they’re even tougher when they are at home. Carbon kept it close, but Richfield would blow things open in the third, taking the 54-43 win.
Carbon sits at 10-4 and holds the No.5 spot in the 3A RPI. The loss to Richfield ends a five game winning streak that the Dinos were riding since December 13.

The second quarter was pretty quiet up until the last three minutes when both teams combined for 20 points, but the Wildcats still held a 26-21 lead.
In the third quarter, the Dinos came out sluggish, able put up just four points in the quarter, only to come back in the fourth to find their offense putting up their biggest offensive output of the game with 18, but the damage had already been done and the Wildcats hung on for the 54-43 win.
Madi Orth led the Dinos with 14 points in the contest, Orth added five rebounds and three steals. Gracee Vasquez added 11, and Amiah Timothy and Garrish each ended the game wit five points and three rebounds.
