The Spartan swim team welcomed Carbon, Judge Memorial, and Summit Academy to Castle Dale for “Senior Night”, but Emery still had work to do. Both the boys and girls ended with top finishes at the meet, the last one open to the public until the Regional Meet in Richfield on January 26.

The boys blew everyone out of the water quite literally, scoring 722.5 and taking first place. Juan Diego came in a distant second scoring 584 and Carbon was third with 445.5.

Three Spartans had third place finishes adding to the point total, Jacob Fauver in the 100 free, Adam Olsen in the 100 backstroke, and Trek Petersen in the 100 breaststroke.

Emery also earned a top finish in the 400 relay turning in a time of 3:49.77 with the team of Bryant Durrant, Tyler Frandsen, Alex Fredrick, and Fauver.

They also claimed a second place finish in the 200 free relay with the team of Durrant, Fauver, Frandsen, and Kade Larsen.

In the 200 medley relay, Larsen and teammates Alex Fredrick, Parker Jensen, and Will Stilson took third place.

For the girls, Emery took the top spot with 715 followed by Carbon at 498. Juan Diego and Summit Academy rounded out the field.

Sydney Carter earned a couple of top finishes in the 50 free with a time of 27.67, and 100 free turning in a time of 1:01.44. Melody Lake earned first place in the 200 free in 2:15.86, and second in the 100 breaststroke. Aubrey Guymon earned the top spot in the backstroke in 1:08.45 and second in the 100 fly.

Other top finishers for the Lady Spartans were Illyria Mason with a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, Carley Young took third in the 100 breaststroke and Aspen Jensen claimed third in the 100 backstroke. Rileigh Meccariello earned third in the 100 free.

Emery had a great showing with their relays as well earning first in both the 200 free and medley relays.

In the 200 free the team of Abby Morris, Lake, Guymon, and Carter, turned in a time of 1:51.92.  In the 200 medley, it was Carter, Jensen, Guymon, and Lake with a time of 2:07.22.

In the 400 relay Claire Lindsey, Purity Mason, Meccariello, and Morris with a third place finish.

The Spartans are in Cedar City this weekend for the Cedar Invitational on January 13 and 14.
