The USU Eastern Theatre Department is excited to kick off the new year with a production entitled Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood. Castle County Radio sat down with members of the theatre department to get all the details.

“This show is a very fun, very exciting, happy show, I think, lots of adventures. So it’s called Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood by Ken Ludwig and Corey Ewan is our director at USU Eastern. I’m just going to give you a little synopsis, packed with thrills, romance, laughter and immortal characters like Little John, Friar Tuck, and Maid Marian. Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood tells the enduring story of a hero of the people, who takes on the ruthless powers that be. You won’t want to miss a moment if this swatch buckling fun,” explained Theatre Student, Nellie Heaton. This production will take place Jan. 9 through the 12 and Jan. 18 through the 21 at the USU Eastern Geary Theatre. Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

The groups of actors will put on this production here in Price this month and then take it out on tour for others to see in Logan and Canada over the summer months. “So by going on this tour not only does it introduce me and the actors to different theatre spaces that they can work in the future, but also that people that work in that company. So I think it’s a very good opportunity for people because it broadens their horizons, especially with theatre its is very much about connections and knowing people in the business to continue this career,” said Theatre Student, Jaxynson Sparks. The Theatre Department has held several fundraising events to help fund the expenses to go out on tour.

Admission prices to the Geary Theatre are very affordable as Theatre Student, McArthur Cottam explains, “Ticket prices are $15.00 for adult, $10.00 for seniors, faculty/staff/alumni of Utah State including Eastern is $8.00. USU Students get in free due to some of the stuff that the Student Government has been doing.
