After falling to the Lady Wildcats in Richfield last Tuesday, the Lady Dinos were looking for their first region win of the season when they welcomed Canyon View to Price on Friday night. Putting up 30 points in the first half the Dinos kept the Falcons at arm’s length earning the 46-37 win.
The Lady Dinos are now 11-4 overall and 1-1 in region play sitting at the No.4 spot in the RPI. Carbon only has four conference games left this season.
Carbon was ready to go in the first quarter putting up 20 points and holding Canyon View to just 15, The Lady Dinos would push their lead to 30-21 at the half.
In the second half the Dinos seemed to let off the gas a bit scoring seven in the third and nine in the fourth, holding Canyon View to 16 in the second half and matching the Dinos point for point, but the Carbon lead was enough to hold on for the win.
Amaih Timothy led the Dinos with 10 points and pulled down five rebounds. Madi Orth and Haley Garrish each scored eigth with Orth grabbing nine boards and Garrish had seven rebounds.
Carbon has five games left on the slate starting with Thursday night’s home game with the Emery Spartans. Emery sits at 9-6 overall and is 0-2 in region play, sitting at No.9 in the 3A RPI.
After the game with Emery, Carbon has played through the first half of the region schedule so they have just one game left with each team. The Dinos have a non-region game with Judge Memorial on January 31.
The game with the Lady Spartans is set to tip off at 7 p.m., on Thursday at the Carbon High Gym.
