Our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Alan C. Davido, age 74, passed away January 17, 2023.
Alan was born on December 19, 1948 in Price, Utah to Oscar and Matilda Felice Davido. Married Gayle Petersen on April 27, 1973 in Price, Utah.
Alan grew up in Price and attended Notre Dame School, where he graduated in 1966. After graduating from CEU, he attended Utah State University where he received his bachelor’s degree.
Professionally, Alan worked for and retired from Utah Power and Light in 1999. Upon his retirement, he opened Alan’s Lock Shop that he owned and operated until his health declined in 2019.
Alan was an avid gun collector, a wiz with woodworking and leatherwork, and made many friends doing all of them. He was a tinkerer, always taking things apart that didn’t work. Alan could repair anything, and could even make his own parts to make things work.
He loved Castle Country, exploring the surrounding plateaus and mountains on anything with wheels, be it a three-wheeler, four-wheeler or side-by-side. He also enjoyed boating at Lake Powell, from Hyatt to the dam. Besides his affinity for John Wayne and old Westerns, most of all, Alan loved his wife, Gayle. He will be missed dearly by his family and a community of friends.
Alan is survived by his wife, Gayle; daughter, Tawnia (Carl) Weisller; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Til; and sister, Alane Davido.
