The Lady Pirates season so far has had its ups and downs. Right now they are definitely on the upswing. They had won two of there last three heading into last Fridays game with Caprock Academy. Looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season they would not be denied, earning a 71-42 win.

Green River Has put together a 4-14 record this season and posts a 2-2 region mark, currently they sit in the No. 16 in the 1A RPI.  With six games left on the schedule until the end of the season, the Lady Pirates can still pick up some region wins before the state tournament.

Caprock Academy traveled from Grand Junction, and bringing a 7-5 overall record with them as well as their 1-2 mark in region play. In Colorado, Caprock plays against teams from Rangely, Hayden, North Park and Vail Christian.

Against the Eagles, Green River lead from beginning to end, outscoring Caprock 34-17 in the first half, putting up 20 points in the second quarter alone.

The second half of the game was more of the same with the Lady Pirates seemingly scoring whenever they like as they would put up another 17 in the third quarter putting Green River up by 23 heading into the fourth.

In the final quarter, Green River dug deep once more putting up another 20 pushing the lead and taking a big 71-42 victory.

Abigail Erwin came up big for Green River putting up 38 points, Jenilee Keener added 12 and Jordynne Gingerich put up 11.

The Lady Pirates are back on the road on February 2 in Monticello (2-12, 0-3, No.18).
