
The Lady Spartans faced the top team in Region 12 on Thursday when they traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats. Earlier in the season when the two met up at the Spartan Center, the Wildcats returned to Richfield with a 50-37 win. Emery started out slow and could never catch-up, falling on the road 52-39 dropping to 0-5 in Region 12 play.
Emery sits at .500, 9-9 on the regular season and in the No.10 spot in the 3A RPI. Region 12 is one of the toughest in 3A, with all four teams inside the top 10.
The Lady Spartans started out slow in the first quarter allowing 20 points and scoring just 10. It didn’t get any better for the Lady Spartans in the second quarter as they only put up three points.
Emery started out ice cold in the third unable to score until the three minute mark when Makaila Peacock hit a corner three. Moving into the final quarter, the Spartans found their offense putting up 19 but still falling short losing to the Wildcats, 52-39.
Katelyn Nielson scored seven in the contest, Alexia Mortensen and Aliya Lester each had six in the loss.
The Spartans have just one game left Thursday, when they welcome to Carbon Dinos into the Spartan Center.
