Eastern Utah Community Credit Union (EUCCU) is currently accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors and non-traditional students. EUCCU Representative, Paige Anderson stopped by Castle County Radio to discuss all the details.

Eligibility for the scholarship is for any member of the credit union. “Any of our members who are planning on attending USU Eastern in the Fall, fulltime, so 12 credit hours,” said Anderson. The scholarship would be awarded for the 2023-2024 academic year.

If awarded the scholarship it could help pay for any tuition or fees the student faces. “It’s going to help with your tuition, your fees, even help cover some of the books. It really depends on how many people we have apply. We have a lump of money that we want to give to the people to help pay for their schooling to cover whatever they need,” explained Anderson. EUCCU wants to help its members to get the schooling they can from USU Eastern.

EUCCU always is looking for ways to give back to the community. “There’s the credit union motto of people helping people, and we’ve really taken that to heart. A lot of my job is focused on helping give back to the community, put on those events, and really taking everything that our members have given us, and giving it back to them, because we’re a part of this community too, so we want to see them flourish,” stated Anderson.

The credit union is currently taking scholarship applications that you can easily access on their website. “So if you go to https://www.euccu.com/ there along the front there’s going to be some banner ads as we call them. There’s going to be a bright yellowish-orange one that says apply for a scholarship now. If you click on it, it takes you straight to the application. Its not a long application, like we’re not asking you to write this huge long essay, just a couple of paragraphs about what this money will do for you, hit submit, and we’ll get back to you,” said Anderson. The deadline to apply for the EUCCU Scholarship is Friday, Mar. 3.
