The final Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI rankings for 3A boy’s basketball were released Saturday, setting the stage for the State Championship Tournament which will begin on Tuesday.
Manti, from Region 14, earned the No.1 overall seed finishing the regular season with a record of 20-2. Region 12 members Richfield and Emery occupy the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, with Grantsville and Morgan rounding out the top five. Carbon sits in the No. 12 spot.
Each of the 19 teams in the classification now have their ranking for the season-ending tournament. Seeds 1-through-13 will receive a first round bye and advance to the second round on Friday.
The field of 19 will be cut to 16 as the 14-19 seeds will start play Tuesday evening at the higher seeded teams home site:
*No. 14 North Sanpete VS No. 19 Ben Lomond
*No. 15 Union VS No. 18 Delta
*No. 16 Providence Hall VS No.17 Grand County
The second round of the 3A State Tournament will begin on Friday and will continue to be played at the higher seeded team’s home site. After Friday, the field of 16 will be cut in half to eight:
*No. 8 Canyon View VS No. 9 American Leadership Academy
*No 7 Juab VS No. 10 South Summit
*No. 6 Summit Academy VS No. 11 Judge Memorial
*No. 5 Morgan VS No. 12 Carbon (KRPX 95.3 The Peak, pre-game at 6:30, tip-off at 7)
*No. 4 Grantsville VS No.13 Ogden
*No. 3 Emery VS North Sanpete/Ben Lomond (KOAL 107.3 FM, 750 AM, pre-game at 6:30, tip-off at 7)
*No. 2 Richfield VS Union/Delta
*No. 1 Manti VS Providence Hall/Grand County
The eight remaining teams will head to the campus of Southern Utah University in Cedar City, where the State Champion will be determined over the course of three days from Feb. 23 and Feb. 25. Starting with this round, every team will be guaranteed two games. With a loss the team would fall into the consolation bracket with the best outcome being a third place finish.

All Carbon High School games will air on KRPX 95.3 The Peak, castlecountryradio.com and will also be available for free on the KRPX Radio App.
