Colin Fausett of the Carbon Dino Wrestling team earned a third place finish at the 3A State Championships at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. The two day event brought the best wrestlers from around the state in the 3A class.
Carbon had twelve team members that were invited to the 3A State Championships.
Fausett earned a 49-10 record in the regular season and was 3-1 in his early matches at the championships. In the third place match, he faced Siaosi Taufatofua (27-20) of Richfield. Both wrestlers pushed each other to go the distance with Fausett taking the 9-2 decision and earning the third place finish in the 150 pound class.
Joining KOAL’s Drive Time Sports Carbon Wrestling coach Trent Greenhalgh talked about Fausett and the season he was able to put together.
“Colin peaks at the right time, I mean he’s been very consistent all year, but just watching his positions at state, as far as the wrestling positions, probably some of the best he’s wrestled all season.” Greenhalgh went on to finish by saying,”I really feel like he put it all together this week.”
