The Carbon Dino boy’s basketball season came to an end on Friday night on the road in Morgan. The Dinos played the Trojans tough in the first half but a third-quarter drop-off hurt Carbon and they were unable to make a comeback as the Dinos season came to an end 70-54.

Carbon entered tonight’s game with an 8-12 regular season record and held the No.12 spot in the Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI. The last time the Dinos were on the floor was Friday, February 10 at home against Richfield, which ended in a 56-38 loss.

Morgan, on the other hand, is just four seasons removed from a State Championship and this year ended their regular season with a 16-5 regular season record and earned the No. 5, ending the season winning four of their last five.

On Friday night, the Dinos would stay right with the Trojans doing everything they would need to do if they were going to be able to win the contest, as Carbon would take a one-point lead into the locker room at the half.

Starting the second half, the Dinos came out and got off to a slow start only managing to put up nine points in the quarter as the Trojans took control and never really looked back ending the quarter with a 49-43 advantage.

In the fourth, the Dinos could not keep up with the Trojans offensive attack. Morgan went off for 21 points in the final eight minutes, all the while holding Carbon to 11 in the quarter, bringing an end to the season with a 70-54 loss.

For Morgan, it was senior Aiden Harris who lead all scorers with 24 in the game. Senior Eli Bailey had 11.

Chet Anderson led the Dinos in the final game of his high school career with 15, and junior Zeke Wilson had 13. Senior Brax Stevenson and junior Ryker Butler each put up eight in the loss.
