
Perry Henry Timothy, 97, passed away peacefully February 21, 2023 at his home in Wellington while surrounded by his loving family.
Perry was one of eight children born to Henry and Ora Perry Timothy in Cleveland, Utah on August 27, 1925. He married the love of his life, Carol Rich in Wellington, Utah on June 23, 1951. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 15, 1965.
Perry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a resident of Wellington for the past 70 years, and in 2022 he was the Grand Marshall of Wellington Pioneer Days Celebration where he road in his old 1965 Blue Chevy. He was proud of his heritage and served honorably in the US Army during World War II. Perry lived a very simple life and his motto was work hard and play harder. He was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, Horse Canyon Local where he retired at the age of 57. When Perry wasn’t working around the house, he kept busy building miles of fence for the BLM in Carbon and Emery counties. Perry loved hunting, fishing, playing pool and solitaire. He will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Timothy, Wellington; two sons and two daughters, Scott Timothy, Fruita, CO., Brad (Margaret) Timothy, Wellington, Paula (Henry) Mills, Lisha Lee, both of Price; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-granddaughters and 1 great-great-grandson on the way; sister-in-law, Essie Jones, Price; brother-in-law, Gary (Kay) Rich, Wellington; many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sibyl Price and Gwenda Norton; five brothers, Art, John, Angus, Doyal and Reese Timothy.
Funeral service, Monday, February 27, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Wellington Stake Center. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and at the church Monday one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Wellington City Cemetery.
