
Thursday morning the Emery Spartans will get back into tournament play in Cedar City at Southern Utah University. The Spartans will face the Summit Academy Bears.
Emery earned their spot in the quarterfinals with a win over North Sanpete last Friday 72-59.
The Spartans ended the regular season at 17-3 and with a 7-1 mark in Region 12 which earned them a share of the division title. Junior guard Luke Justice has led the Spartans this season with 13.5 points per game. Big man senior center Brett Rassmussen has come up huge in the paint, with 9.3 rebounds per game and 1.6 blocks, and junior guard/small forward Wade Stilson averaged 5.7 assists and 3.7 steals per game.

The Summit Academy Bears got to the quarterfinals by beating Judge Memorial on Friday 51-38.
Summit Academy closed out the regular season with a 19-3 overall record which included a 4-2 Region 15 record which earned them a second-place finish. Senior guard Bryson Ottley leads the Bears averaging 21 points per game. Garon Dustin, a 6’7″ senior center prowls the paint averaging 13 rebounds per game and three blocks, and 6’1″ senior guard Noah Lynch has been averaging four assists and steals per contest.
