
The Lady Panthers 2022-2023 season came to an end on the road in Montezuma Creek at the hands of the Whitehorse Raiders. The game was all Raiders from the opening tip, as the Panthers had dug themselves into a hole they couldn’t climb out of, falling 74-25.
Pinnacle finished the regular season 3-17 overall with an 0-8 Region 23 mark. The last time they were on the floor they fell at home to Monticello 41-30. The Lady Panthers had a rough season ending on a 12 game losing streak.
Whitehorse finished the regular season 7-13 earning a 6-2 Region 23 mark and the No. 13 spot in the 1A RPI. In their final regular season game the Raiders lost to Monument Valley on the road, 64-44.
The game on Saturday was all Whitehorse with them going up 25-4 in the first quarter as the Lady Panthers didn’t have any answers and the Raiders took a 47-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Coming out in the third quarter, the Panthers started out slow only managing to put up four points in the quarter and another 10 in the final eight minutes, giving the win to Whitehorse 74-25.
Persephone Jones put up eight in the contest for Pinnacle, with Azure Jewkes adding seven and Carolina Vasquez putting up three.
The Panthers will lose five seniors to graduation. Darolani Motte, Averee Atwood, Felicia Ortega, Ryver Cammans and Jewkes are all members of the class of 2023.
