Get ready for one of biggest events held in the Castle Country area coming up on Sunday, April 2. It’s the 57th Annual Price Kiwanis Radio Auction where locals look forward to bidding on products and services from local merchants. Price Kiwanis Member, Nick Tatton stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details.
“I’ve had a great time being involved with the club. Children’s Charities, raise a bunch of money, give it back to the community in terms of needs that children might have. A lot of educational things, science fairs, spelling bees, scholarships, sports teams, little league, those kinds of things. As well as, a great big Sub for Santa effort every year,” stated Tatton. The Kiwanis Club annual radio auction is a great event that earns funds to assist children in the Castle Country area.
This is one of the biggest fundraisers that the club puts on each year. “This will be the 57th year and that’s pretty cool, the easiest way to remember it it’s the same as the Super Bowl, that’s what old Tom Anderson would use to say. But coming right up on Sunday, April 2, we’re going to be out there at the radio station, right now the Kiwanis Members are out gathering up donations in the community and those will just be randomly auctioned off to the highest bidder all day long on the radio, and that money again turns around goes right back into the Children’s Charity,” explained Tatton. The auction takes place on Castle Country Radio stations, KOAL AM750, KARB 98.3FM and KRPX 95.3FM at 9:00 am.
The club is always looking for new members to be a part of their cause. “I think not just with the Kiwanis but with any civic involvement, participation is down nationwide and we feel it here too. So we could definitely use some help, if somebody wants to be involved with the club, just call the radio station, you guys can get them in touch with a one of the club members and we would be happy to get people involved, help make it happen and be a part of the group,” said Tatton. If any individuals would like to be a part of the Kiwanis Club and would like to know more about the club, they may attend their weekly meetings on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm at the Carbon Country Club or contact any current club member.
