
Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Connie Lucille Rich Oliver, age 85, passed away peacefully March 11, 2023 at the Heirloom Inn in Price, Utah
She was born August 5, 1937 in Price, Utah to Orval Isaac and Zelpha Delilah Allred Rich. She was the youngest of 2 girls and grew up in Wellington, Utah
She married the love of her life, LeRoy Oliver on November 12, 1954 in Wellington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 7, 1986. He passed away on March 6, 2010.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions. One of her favorite being in the Young Women’s presidency. She loved her “girls” and many of them still stay in touch with her.
Family was very important to her. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they loved her. Spending time with them always made her happy. She sent birthday cards to every one of them every year, up until this past year. She loved babies and never passed up the opportunity to hold them.
In her younger years she played softball for the Mitchell Mummies and was very proud of that. She loved life and always had a smile on her face. Her house was the neighborhood gathering place and her door was always open. Game night was a favorite at her house and her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their friends loved to play games with her. There was always a lot of laughter and plenty of snacks.
She loved to sew, crochet, and make crafts for family and friends. She also owned a craft store and sold her items at many local craft fairs. She enjoyed camping, fishing, water skiing, and just spending time outdoors. She looked forward to the annual family reunions.
She and her husband became “snowbirds” and spent winters in Quartzsite, Arizona. They enjoyed their time together while there and attended music jams and she loved to sing along. Her and her sister Ranae would sing together and were often requested to sing at many places in Quartzsite. The most requested song was “Molly Sweet Molly”, where she would sing and Ranae would yodel.
She is survived by her .4 children. Greg (Tina), Cleveland, Utah; Debbie (Alan Barber, deceased) Oliver, Helper, Utah; Kathy (Doug) Reid, Price, Utah and Gary (Belinda) Oliver, Spring Glen, Utah. Brother-in law Dick Eastman, Sagle Idaho, Sisters-in-law Fern Oliver, Castle Dale, Utah, and Alice Smith, Vernal Utah. 22 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her in-laws, Orcel and Gladys Oliver, her sister Ranae Eastman, sister in-law and brother-in-law Donna and Ken Turpin, brothers-in-law, Derald Oliver, and Ron Smith. Grandchildren Shaniel Donaldson, Steven Oliver, and Cody Reid.
Funeral service, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Carbonville Ward Chapel in Spring Glen Utah where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning one hour prior to service. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
