The Desert Wave Pool is hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 1 beginning at 1:00 pm, and they also wanted to be sure to let the community know that they will be open during Spring Break. Aquatic Coordinator, Tamara Gray stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details with listeners.

The bubble on the pool is going to come down in a month and half and because the indoor pool is being renovated the entire pool facility will have to be closed for business.  “We don’t have the indoor pool in use right now, so we’ll definitely have to just close for a few days, because we have to dry the bubble out for a couple of days before we actually take it down. But we’ll try to do it in a timely manner, so people can come back and enjoy the pool again,” stated Gray. A specific date was not available at this time but if you follow the Desert Wave Pool Facebook page it will keep you informed on bubble maintenance.

The indoor pool has been shut down for some time as workers are working tirelessly on making renovations to the pool.  “We are progressing. We’re looking at sometime in July, like you said, I hate throwing out dates with construction its always kind of up in the air. But things are moving along, and you can see progress, and anytime anybody wants to come take a look at it or peek at it, just let us know and we’ll kind of show you, so you can see what’s going on,” said Gray. City officials hope that the new facility will be more suitable for the community needs.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 1 beginning at 1:00 pm. There will be different times and age categories as Gray explains, “We have groups of all ages. So 0 to 3 years old we will start their hunt at 1:00 pm, 4 to 6 years old begins at 1:30, 7 to 9 years old begins at 2:00 pm, and 10 to 12 years old begins at 2:30 pm, 13 and over are at 3:00 pm – so those are start times. What we do is we put the eggs in the water, we’ll go deeper when the ages get older, but we start really, really, shallow. They’re numbers, we draw a number for a grand prize, but everybody lines up and gets a little prize from the Easter Bunny.” Parents are encouraged to bring their camera because they will have an opportunity to take pictures.

All schools in the Castle Country area will be on Spring Break next week. The Desert Wave Pool will be open from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on those days so kiddos can come spend the day at the pool during the Spring Break vacation. Don’t forget that the pool has a concession stand open for drinks, snacks and treats.
