The Utah State University Eastern Theatre Department is ready to present their final production of the school year entitled It Runs in The Family. This production will run from Apr. 6 – 8 and Apr. 12 – 15 at the USU Eastern Peterson Black Box Theatre. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Student Actor, Patrick Paulk to get all the details of the production.

“It Runs in The Family is a British farce, so you get a lot of doors and lot of that fun stuff. We take place in a hospital this time and it’s intriguing, something comes back to bite the main character in the butt. It’s going to be fun to see how it unfolds with everyone, as more people come to see the show,” said Paulk. The production contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex-wife, a punkish son and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference. This is a comedy written by Ray Cooney and is being directed by Associate Professor of Acting, Dr. Corey Ewan.

“So we open Apr. 6 and we run till that Saturday. Then we will open back up on the 12th and run through till that Saturday, so the 12th through the 15th. The doors will open at 7:00 pm and the show will start at 7:30 pm,” said Paulk. The production will take place in the USU Eastern Peterson Black Box Theatre in the CIB Building on the campus of USU Eastern.

“Tickets will go from $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, $8.00 for faculty or alumni of USU, $3.00 for USU Students and $10.00 for non-USU Students,” said Paulk. The tickets can be purchased at the door or can be found on https://www.eventbrite.com/ Again, doors open at 7:00 pm at the play will begin at 7:30 pm.
