
Kelli Jan Atwood, age 61, passed away April 3, 2023 at her home in Price.
Kelli was the daughter of Frank Steele and Marilyn Dowley Atwood who was born on May 24, 1961 in Moab, Utah.
Kelli resided in Moab for 11 years before moving to Spring Glen. She moved to Salt Lake City and Eagle Mountain for several years but always felt like she belonged in Price where she resided until her death. Kelli attended elementary school in Moab, then Helper Jr. High and later graduated from Carbon High School. She studied at the College of Eastern Utah where she studied and learned to weld, which she really loved. Kelli was an avid hunter, who enjoyed hunting alongside her husband. She enjoyed looking for deer and antelope and riding her 4-wheeler. She was her dad’s hunting, golfing, fishing and hiking partner. She liked NASCAR and was an avid Jimmy Johnson fan. Her favorite tv show was “Yellowstone.” Kelli had participated in the junior riding club with her aunt Malaine, raised a calf for 4H, played clarinet in band as well as baton twirling for Carbon High.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Mike DeCaro; sons, Coty (Tiffany) Bright, Spring Glen, Chad Holdaway, Elko, NV; grandchildren, Karlie, Dallas and Kendall; great-grandson, Koa, all of Spring Glen; father, Frank Atwood and step-mother, LuDean, both of Nephi; sister, Tonya (Rich) Laws, Stansbury Park; nephews, Tory (Jenica), Jeromy (Jamie) Laws; great nieces, Sami and Madi Laws; step-sisters and brothers, Becky (Bert) Whimpey, Bart Sperry (Marla), Craig Talbot (Carolyn), Suzie Applegate (Jay), Tami Day (Kerry); brother-in-law, Jim (Leslie), and their children, Justin and Alisha; sister-in-law, Tracie Coleman, and her son Chris; many aunts, uncles and cousins from various states.
Preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn; grandparents, Frank L. and Theda Atwood, Delaine and Mayola Dowley; mother and father-in-law, Merlene DeCaro and Carmel J. DeCaro; sister-in-law, Denise Dawn DeCaro; as well as many aunts and uncles who are waiting to greet her.
Funeral service, Saturday, April 15, 2023, 10:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 5:00 –7:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
