Haven Byerly pitched her second consecutive no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Morgan on the road Friday. Coming off a 13 strikeout performance in the 9-0 victory over Emery, Byerly came back against Morgan striking out 16 and surrendering two walks.

The Dinos have just a handful of game remaining on the schedule and sit currently at 7-4 overall with a 3-0 mark in region play.  They also sit in the No. 4 spot in the most recent RPI.

The game started out quiet for both teams as the Lady Dinos didn’t put any runs on the board until the fourth inning when Reese Ardohain sent a sacrifice fly to left scoring Jenna Richards. Brielle Sandoval came up to bat next in the order sending a grounder to center allowing Sam Riddle to score making the score 2-0.

The Carbon bats went quiet until the top of the seventh when Makayla Scovill would send one over the wall in center bringing in Taylor Secor putting the score at 4-0, and giving the Dinos the win.

Secor went 2-3 scoring a run, Jenna Richards was 1-3 with a run scored and Scovill was 1-4 with a pair of RBI’s and a run scored.

Byerly earned the win with the complete game shutout.

Carbon is back on the field Monday when they welcome North Sanpete.
