With a win against the Grand Red Devils the Dinos could put pressure on the Emery Spartans in the race for the top spot in Region 12, unfortunately it was not meant to be as they dropped their final region match of the season 4-2.

Carbon sits at 6-3 overall and now 6-2 in region play, with their only region losses coming from Emery and now Grand.

Carbon couldn’t find any offense in the first half and were unable to keep Grand out of the net, with the Red Devils taking a 2-0 lead into the locker room. The Dinos came out in the second half going back to work and finding the goal twice. Grand was also able to score in the second half pushing the score to 4-2 handing the Dinos their third loss of the season.

Tyler Morris would score for Carbon and added an assist. Thijs Bertens added the other goal. Luke Brady had an assist in the Dinos loss.

Carbon can still win the region crown out right but the Spartans would have to drop their final two games of the season, if Emery were to lose just one of their final two, both teams would have a share of the region title.

Carbon heads back to the field on Friday when they travel to Beaver.
