The Lady Dinos were riding high on a seven game win streak, with their last loss coming on March 17. On Tuesday, Carbon welcomed the Lehi Pioneers to Price, and it was a tough outing for the Dinos taking an 8-1 loss.
Carbon sits at 8-5 overall and has a 3-0 mark in region play. The Dinos also sit in the No. 5 spot in the RPI rankings.
The Lady Dinos could never find their offense in this one, Lehi however had no problems getting going, putting up four runs in the first three innings. The Dinos would get on the board in the bottom of the seventh with a solo shot from the bat Makayla Scovill.
Jenna Richards had a 2-4 day at the plate. Scovill was 1-4 with the home run, an RBI and a run scored. Three Lady Dinos: Gabby Vasquez, Kylan Sorenson and Brielle Sandoval each added a hit.
Scovill got the start on the mound giving up seven hits in four innings, surrendering six earned runs and struck out three. Sorenson came in to finish up putting in three innings worth of work giving up five hits, one earned and three strike outs.
The Lady Dinos have a busy week still in front of them. Wednesday they will be back on the field at the Carbon County Fairgrounds to face the Emery Spartans.
Thursday they will welcome the Duchesne Eagles in a non-region tilt and then on Saturday they will welcome Region 12 member Canyon View.
The contest Wednesday with Emery is scheduled for a 3:30 start.
