Peacefully and surrounded by family, our beloved LaRayne Davis fondly referred to by many as “Rainy”, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister passed away on Monday, April 24,2023 at the age of 74 after a courageous fight with cancer.

This world was blessed when she was born on the day of July 27, 1948, to her parents Ray Duwayne Anderton and CathleenMae (Dunn) Anderton.

LaRayne will be irreplaceable in the lives of and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Max E Davis; children: Leisa (Rick) Cloward, Michelle Heilesen, Angela Davis, Nancy Heilesen, Billie Heilesen, and her children through marriage with Max, Max Davis, Jr. and Tiffany (Gary) McKibben; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings Ray D (Veda) Anderton, Marilyn Blake, her twin LaRae (Ray) Anderton Cook, Russell Shane Anderton; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Ray Duwayne Anderton and Cathleen Mae (Dunn)Anderton; sibling, Phyllis Anderton; and grandchild, Cassidy Lee Lindt.

LaRayne leaves a legacy of unconditional love to all who had the pleasure to love and know her and cross her path. She was known and respected by many making trips into town an all-day adventure of chatting and catching up on the newest and greatest. You were fortunate to have one of these chats and even more so to be welcomed into her home. Creating a nurturing home and caring for all of her many loved ones was one of her greatest accomplishments and an act of selflessness that is rare. One of her greatest joys was being a mother and grandmother to all of her own and all those blessed to be inherited by her. She equally loved her children of the furry kind, too, and showered them with all the same love and affection. We will all cherish in our memories and hearts that feeling of being home we felt every time we walked through her door for visit, or filled the entire house for special occasions, and especially when we stumbled in weary from the woes of life and knowing all was right with the world again with her by our side. She was the center of our world, our rock, and guiding compass when life led us astray. She was the perfect balance of compassion and fierce. You always knew where you stood and only dare you harm one of her own. As her legacy and family continued to grow and grow, she always made time and effort to proudly boast large and small accomplishments of all of us. She especially enjoyed the rare chance to post a photo of her husband and put their long-lasting bond and love on display. She wanted the world to know she was lucky and blessed to have a doting husband who gave so much and asked for so little. Her love for him was beyond measure. The home they created together is timeless and yet ever changing, a hobby shared by both she and her husband to constantly reimagine a space for their life together and for their loved ones as they stepped back in from their own travels in life. Her recipes will continue to be savored, shared, and passed on for generations just as she would have it as long as you can measure ingredients with a ‘pinch’; or a ‘palm’.  Her love, unlike her recipes, can only be measured in infinite amounts, and our hearts will forever be full.
