Sherma Lee Gardner, age 88, of Cleveland, Utah passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023 in Price, Utah. Sherma was the daughter to Louis Peter Larsen and Mary Jane Ward who was born on July 7, 1934 in Cleveland, Utah.

Sherma was married to the love of her life, Lowell LaMond Gardner on March 21, 1953 in Cleveland, Utah. They were later sealed together in the Manti Temple on June 2, 1955. Together, they had three children: Pattie (Chris) Hansen, Mary Ann, and Blake (Becky) Gardner. They have seven grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Sherma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to sew and was always sewing something. If you could not find her, generally, she was in her sewing room. Sherma was known for her hospitality. She loved having people in her home and was always known to everyone as caring and loving. She loved cooking for other people. Whenever anyone went to her house there was never a lack of food. She had Sunday dinner every week for her family. In her earlier years, she was in the riding club. She also had a great love for softball; where she played shortstop. She played softball for many years, even playing in a softball tournament at the age of 55. As long as any of the children remember, if it was Saturday night you knew that LaMond and Sherma were with their special friends Claude and Alice Saddler, Roy and Zona Jensen, and Bonnie and Glendon Johansen playing their weekly round of Pinochle. LaMond and Sherma spent many winters in Quartzsite together with special friends and family enjoying the warm weather. Sherma loved her family more than anything. Her grandchildren brought so much joy to her life; she would do anything for them.

Sherma is survived by her son, Blake (Becky) Gardner, Cleveland, Utah; son-in-law, Chris Hansen, Cleveland, Utah; and two special sisters-in-law, Loretta Larsen, Cleveland, Utah and Shanna Lewis, Salt Lake City, Utah.

She is preceded in death by her husband, LaMond; and daughters, Pattie and Mary Ann.

The family wishes to thank those who cared for Sherma at the Heirloom Inn where she lived for the last two years.
