Our fun-loving sister, aunt and friend to all, Rosalie Marie Gutierrez, passed away peacefully May 16, 2023 at home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, just a couple weeks after her 60th birthday.
She was born on May 1, 1963 in Price, Utah to Johnny and Betty Gutierrez (later divorced). She met the love of her life, Dennis Pace, in 1986 and though they never married they spent the last 36 years side by side. She always said she never wanted human kids but sure loved her cats Dorothy, Sito bandito, and bell pepper.
Rosalie worked at Quality Cleaners for over 30 years before they closed permanently, and you never left the place without laughing or feeling like family. Aside from her day job she was an amazing seamstress, and if she was not sewing, she was upgrading her boots, or making you some sort of jewelry from spare parts. She always looked forward to Wendover adventures, but really loved riding behind Dennis on his Harley and making the trip to Sturgis every year for the past 18 years.
She liked to refer to her sisters Trish and Helen as the “un-fun” sisters because Rose’s adventures were non-stop. She was the life of the party, first to arrive, last to leave. She truly was one of a kind. Her eccentric personality and kindness will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
Survived by her soulmate, Dennis Pace; his kids from a previous marriage, Jeff and Brent Pace, along with their families; sisters, Trish Frandsen (Sinsel), Helen (Leon) Crandall; step-sister, Jerrylynn (Brett) Niederhauser; niece, Shannon (Joshua) Pierce, along with their kids, Dylan and Gianna; nephew, Steven Cloward (CJ Ford); aunts, Lydia (Mike) Zamantakis, Stella Gutierrez, Patsy Montoya, Vickie Montoya; uncle; Joe Montoya; along with numerous cousins, and a community of friends.
Preceded in death by her father and mother; stepfather, Frank Martinez; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jaylan Leautaud from Rocky Mountain Home Care for the compassionate care provided to Rosalie.
