Our cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, Garth F. Kinder, age 75, was called home on May 22, 2023.

He was born on April 1, 1948 to Bruce and Rhoda Page Kinder of Huntington, Utah. The second of three children, Garth lived a rambunctious childhood in rural Utah where he developed a lifelong love of horses, animals, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Garth married the love of his life and best friend, Tresa Ann Southwick, on September 5, 1969 in Lehi, Utah. They have spent 54 adventurous years by each other’s side; together, through thick and thin. In 1976, they chose to make Price, Utah their home where they raised two children, Rex Kinder and Laura Kinder Zorn. From this base camp, they launched many wonderful and memorable adventures together as a couple and family. Vacations, camping trips, birthday parties, and family dinners were a regular and welcome occurrence at their home.

As a devoted husband and father, Garth worked very hard to provide for his family. He was employed at Wheeler Machinery for 41 years as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic. His job wasn’t easy, but he loved imparting his knowledge of mechanics to help family and friends. He was a fiercely loyal friend who will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him and who are lucky to have called him a friend.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tresa S. Kinder; son, Rex Kinder; daughter, Laura (Dan) Zorn; granddaughters, Kaylie (Chris) Austin, Nickole Zorn, and Elizabeth Zorn; great-granddaughter, Lily Austin; sister, Kathy (Louis) Fossat; and so many other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Rhoda Kinder; brother, Don Kinder; and a grandson, Zackary Zorn.
