LaNae Fossat Bogdin passed away peacefully at Castleview Hospital on May 25, 2023, ready for her next adventure.

LaNae was born on January 9, 1948, the first child of Alfred and Lerene Fossat. Her family lived in different homes throughout the Helper area before finding their perfect home on Janet Street.

LaNae attended Central Elementary, Helper Jr. High and Carbon High School, graduating with the Class of 1966. She loved learning and excelled academically. After graduation, she attended CEU. She supported herself through college by working as a waitress at the Price Cafe and the Carbon High School office.

Her next adventure in life was that of wife and mother. She married DeLoy G. Bogdin on October 14, 1967, in Spring Glen, UT. Together, they raised three children, Brenda, Stephanie, and Shane. The family lived in Kemmerer, Wyoming for a short time before moving to Huntington, Utah. While her children attended school, LaNae worked as a teachers’ aide. As her children got older, she worked at the Castle Dale Post Office where she retired after 15 years. LaNae enjoyed serving the public and meeting new people.

LaNae’s most favorite adventure was that of grandmother. She rarely missed an activity, dance recital, or sporting event, always cheering on her grandchildren. Nothing compared to a sleepover at Grandma Nae’s house. She always had the best treats, the best movies, and a fridge full of drinks. Every holiday and birthday meant a handwritten note from Grandma, signed with an XOXO.

Along with spending time with her family, LaNae enjoyed working on genealogy. She also loved to collect porcelain Capodimonte roses, Fenton glass, and other collectibles. Although the last few years of her life were filled with health challenges, LaNae kept fighting to stay with us. She was so loved and will be deeply missed.

LaNae is survived by her husband, DeLoy, of Castle Dale, UT; daughter, Stephanie (Shon) Roper of Ferron, UT; son, Shane (Becky) Bogdin of Provo, UT; grandchildren, Colt, McKaylee, Janissa, Whitney, Tyson, Haidyn, Tiffany, Boe, Hallie, Lindsey and Mayzie; six great-grandchildren, with another great-granddaughter arriving in August; sisters, Dianne Fausett of Springville, Carol (Bill) Moore of Salina; and brother, Allen (Jean) Fossat of Lindon.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Smith; parents, Alfred and Lerene Fossat; and granddaughter, Kira Smith.

View Cemetery, Helper, Utah.
