The Miss Carbon County Organization is planning for an upcoming Informational Meeting on June 19. This is for any girls that are interested in participating in the Miss Teen Carbon or Miss Carbon County pageants coming up in August. Those interested are urged to attend this meeting at 6:00 pm at Mont Harmon Middle School.

“The Miss Carbon County Organization is a scholarship and service-based pageant program. The organization exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women to promote their voices and talent in their community. Our organization focuses on service, scholarships, being a role model, morals and values, goal setting and becoming your best self,” said Coordinator, MeriLynn Tubbs. Young women age 17-24 are eligible to compete in the Miss Carbon County Pageant and young women age 13-17 are eligible to compete in the Miss Teen Carbon County competition. The pageant will be held on August 19.

The Informational Meeting will explain everything there is to know about the organization, as well as what to expect at the pageant. “So this is for the Miss Carbon County and the Miss Teen program. So anyone between the ages of 13 to 24 can come and get some information. We’ll talk about the organization, phases of competition, you’ll get to meet us, as well as the local title holders we have right now. We’ll answer any questions that you have regarding the pageant and competing. Its non-committal, so you can come and just ask some questions and then decide later if you’d like to compete,” said Coordinator, Kylie Howes. The deadline to apply for the pageant is June 22. All paperwork will need to be submitted on or before this date. The contestant paperwork can be found on the Miss Carbon County Organization website.

Any young girls that are interested in the Mini, Little or Junior Miss Carbon County pageants will need to mark their calendars for an important Orientation Workshop taking place on July 12 at 6:00 pm at Mont Harmon Middle School. “For the Mini, Little and Juniors they’ll have an actual Orientation Meeting. Which is Wednesday, July 12 at 6:00 pm at Mont Harmon and that from ages 4 to 12, and all their paperwork is actually due at that meeting,” said Howes. Pageant dates for Mini, Little and Junior Miss will be on August 18.

All contestants must be a resident of Carbon County and have lived here for at least the past two months and plan on living here for the next year. To learn more about the Miss Carbon County Organization visit their website at http://www.misscarboncounty.org/
