The Price City Library is excited to offer another free Cell Phone Photography Class on Wednesday, June 14 at 7:00 pm. This event will be presented by Layne Miller who will show you all the neat features your cell phone has to take remarkable pictures. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Layne to get all the details.

Miller has several years of experience in photography and is happy to share his knowledge with community members. “I actually have done it for a living, so I guess you can call me a professional photographer. I worked the Sun Advocate as the Head Photographer for about 11 years and I actually taught photography night classes at the university for 7 or 8 years,” stated Miller. He is excited to share his wealth of knowledge with guests.

This is the second course offered as the first one in May was a huge hit. “I thought we’ll go over it, in fact, we were there for a couple of hours, and I said, ok, thanks for coming. Do you want to follow up or is this it? I expected everyone to say, no, this was enough, this is it. But they said, well no, we want to come back,” said Miller. There was so much enthusiasm the first time around that it was a no-brainer to offer another course in June.

“The main thing that I focus on is teaching the students how to take a photo that creates the same emotion they felt when they were there taking the picture. There are a lot of techniques. I talk about how your eye leads you through a photo. The main thing is when you look at a photo, your eye goes to the brightest spot in the photo,” stated Miller. Its simple concepts and techniques that he will share with students throughout the evening’s course.
