Three Lady Dino softball players, a trio of seniors earned all state honors that were announced on Wednesday by the Deseret News. Makayla Scovill, and Haven Byerly earned first team nods while Gabby Vasquez received second team honors.

Scovill, who isn’t a stranger to all-state honors, earned her initial first team nod, after a senior campaign that saw her turn in a .480 batting average, and a .500 on base percentage. She also collected seven doubles and five home runs, as well as collecting six wins on the mound. Scovill also collected all-state honorable mentions her junior and sophomore seasons.

Another player who has earned previous honors is Byerly, who received her second first team mention this season and her third overall, earning a second team nod her sophomore year. Byerly posted a .353 batting average with a .489 on base percentage, and on the mound she collected 175 strikeouts and 12-5 record.

And Vasquez, earned a second team nod for her campaign as she turned in a .477 batting average to go with her .535 on base percentage collecting 37 RBI’s and six home runs.

The 3A-All State selections were voted on by the coaches throughout the classification. The Deseret News named Chloe Bytheway from Grantsville the top softball player in 3A.
