Wyatt Falk, Chet Anderson, Ridge Nelson and Colton Lowe were all named to the 3A all-state teams that are compiled by the Deseret News after being voted on by coaches around the classification from a list of nominated players from each team.
Falk, Anderson and Nelson all received first team nods while Lowe earned an honorable mention.
Falk had a tremendous season for the Dinos and at times was unhittable, going 7-0 with a 0.71 ERA and striking out 71. His most impressive act came in the state playoffs against Canyon View, when he threw a no hitter in the 10-0 five inning win. His seven wins ranked third most in 3A, while his 71 strikeouts placed him sixth among eligible pitchers.
Falk’s production was not limited to the mound, as he also delivered as one of Carbon’s best offensive weapons. At the plate he also stood out with 37 RBIs, ranking second in the classification and five home runs.
Nelson was the catcher for the Dinos this season earning a .494 BA with 43 RBI’s, 12 doubles, two triples and five home runs. He was voted Region 12 MVP after leading the classification in RBIs.
Anderson, who prowled the infield for the Dinos at second base and short stop contributed to the Carbons defensive with a .946 fielding percentage. Offensively, he carried a .424 BA and only struck-out twice as the lead off hitter.
Lowe earned his second consecutive nod coming off of a second team honor last season. Defensively he earned a .943 fielding percentage and at the plate closed out the season with a .365 BA collecting 10 doubles, five triples and four home runs.
