The annual Heritage Day Rodeo will take place on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 at the Huntington Rodeo Grounds. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Event Representative, Lisa Miller to discuss all the details.

“Heritage Days Rodeo has been going well over 40 plus years. It was not called the Heritage Days Rodeo at first, but it became that. It’s growing, it’s getting bigger all the time, it’s fun, it’s the breakout rodeo of the season for Carbon and Emery County. We get a lot of support, we support each other, its just a great time, come out and see it,” stated Miller.  This is very affordable entertainment for the entire family. A family pass for 5 individuals is $30.00, adults are $10.00, 13 years to 17 is $5.00, and 12 & under are free.

The stock contractor is sure to bring the best of their stock to the rodeo to entertain the crowd on both nights. “Our contractor is Wayne Hebdon of Diamond H Rodeo; he does a great job for us. We’ve got most of our contestants coming out of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. This year we actually got steer wrestlers signed up, which we have not had for several years but we do this year so hopefully we are growing,” said Miller. This rodeo brings out all the local cowboys and cowgirls so there is surely someone competing that spectators will know.

Guests don’t need to worry about dinner plans on these nights because there will be several food vendors on site. “We’ve got Getting Our Smoke On, everyone loves those. Janna Kay and Chris Magann do a Navajo Taco, everyone loves that vendor also. Friday night only, we have Angel’s Cravings which they do Mexican, they’re very good also but they will only be there Friday, they had a previous engagement for Saturday,” explained Miller. There will even be a dance right after the rodeo held under the pavilion for all guests to enjoy music by Route 10 for the rest of the night.

The Heritage Days Rodeo always takes time to have activities for children as there will be a kid’s rodeo on Saturday morning.  “Kids rodeo, Saturday morning, starts at 10:00 am. It’s a Blue Sage Rodeo, you contact Corey MacArthur, his number is (435) 820-1828,” said Miller. For more information on the kid’s rodeo events contact MacArthur.
