In June, archers from around the world gathered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to compete in the World Archery Championships. Two schools from Price (Mont Harmon and Creekview) and some individuals qualified to compete in the tournament.

In order to qualify students had to first compete at the Utah State Tournament in March, a good showing there allowed you to move on to the Western Nationals at the South Town Expo Center in late April with the top finishers receiving an invitation to the World Championships.

In competition, there are two different target types that are used, the bullseye, which is the more traditional target, and a 3d target, which is six different animal targets made of foam.

Along with the teams from Mont Harmon and Castle Heights, Hunter Cowley, and Kelton Carlile from Creekview and Maggie Truman and Cheyanne Slaughter from Carbon High also qualified for the competition.

Truman shot a 291 in the bullseye shoot ranking seventh out of 556 high school girls, and in 3d, Slaughter who also shot a 291, finished in eighth out of 188.
