Golfers from around the state made their way to the Carbon Country Club over the weekend to take part in the 2023 Basso Group Black Diamond Open. Broken down into four different divisions or “flights” over 150 golfers competed in the two day tournament.

In the Championship Flight, Clint Finkbiner shot a 67 both days to turn in a 134 putting him at the top of the leader board. Jeff Evans, Bode Salas, Blake Murray and Kasey Edgehouse rounded out the top five in the Championship Flight.

Clayton Ward finished with a two day total of 144 to earn the top spot in “A” Flight with Jim McCourt shooting a 146 to finish in second. Ron Jewkes, Jake Jacobson and Kelsey Cripps made up the remainder of the top five.

In the “B” Flight division, Keaton Cowley fired a 160 two day total to claim first place, Hayz Luntz shot a 162 to finish in second place. Jim Jones ended in third with Reed McCourt and David Smith made up the rest of the top five.

Keith Carlisle shot an 84 on the opening day and finished it up with an 82 on day two two put up 166 to earn the top spot in the “C” Flight. Bruce Danjanovich shot a 168 to finish in second. Richard Columbo, Tom Lund, and Rex Alger completed the top five.
