SCOFIELD-Doris Chidester Wright Trease, a remarkable woman who called Scofield, Utah, home, has left us after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease on July 10, 2023. She was 85.

She was born on February 15, 1938, in Price, Utah, to Loren E. and Violet Ellen Jackson Chidester.

Doris’s love for horses was unparalleled, and she proudly rode with the Star Riders. She even served as the drillmaster for both the Star Riders and the Children’s Riding Club. Doris’s passion for horses remained unwavering, even after she moved to Scofield.

Doris entered into matrimony with Thomas “Tommy” Milton Wright on June 25, 1955. Later in life, she found love once again and married David “Bud” Trease on March 25, 1975.

Determined to further her education, Doris returned to adult high school in 1973 to earn her high school diploma. Her dedication paid off, and she graduated from CEU in 1975 with an associate in applied science secretarial.

Doris is survived by her children, Steven Wright (Anita), Vicki Voigt (Rex), Frank Trease (Meliss), Rick Trease (Judith), Leah Watt, Leslie Wilder (Allen); 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Violet; husbands, Tommy and Bud; sons, Lorry and Michael Wright, Terry Trease; siblings, Jack Chidester and Jean Imig.

Funeral service, Friday, July 14, 2023, 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Scofield Town Cemetery in Scofield, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Doris online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, as a tribute to Doris’s battle with the disease.

Doris Chidester Wright Trease will always be remembered for her love, strength, and dedication. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the Scofield community.
