Elva LaVina Robinson Bowden, was surrounded by her family as she peacefully passed away July 9, 2023 in Ferron, Utah.

She was born at home on July 22, 1933 in Magna, Utah, to Leigh Warden and Lavina Hardman Robinson. She married Marvin Rawson Bowden on July 23, 1951; their marriage was later sealed in the Logan Temple September 13, 1962. They welcomed four sons and one daughter into their family.

Elva and Marvin lived in Magna until 1989 when they moved and made their home in Ferron for the past 34 years. Elva is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many church callings including missions with her husband, Marvin, to Kenya Africa, the Bishop’s StoreHouse, and as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple for five years. She loved having her family around her and made each one feel like the most important person in the world. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband and sons. Elva is a true disciple of Jesus Christ as she showed unconditional love and kindness to all who knew her. Her greatest concern was to grow her testimony of Christ, so when the bridegroom came she had reserve oil in her lamp. She gently reminded her family to fill their lamps with oil, by drawing near to Christ. Serving her family was her number one priority. In her later years, to keep her mind active, she embroidered dish towels and pillowcases giving away several hundred to family and friends. After Marv’s passing, their daughter, Sherrie, was her constant companion. They were each other’s best friend and caretaker.

Elva is survived by her; children, Guy and Karen Bowden, Gil and Heidi Bowden, Sherrie Bowden, Gary and Jennifer Bowden, and Grant and Rosemary Bowden; a brother, Allen “Corky” Robinson, 20 grandchildren and over 80 great and great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents; and siblings, Burton, Clarence, Earl, Marie, Donald, and Dean.
