It’s time once again for another session of the Culture Connection Summer Concert Series on Thursday, July 13 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Peace Gardens with the group called Los Hermanos de los Andes. Program Coordinator, Ted Hinckley took time to speak over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to share all the concert details.

“As I started doing stuff for Price people, everyone knows who these guys are, they love them. They play the pan flute; do you know what those are? Those pieces of bamboo that are cut to different lengths. In their show, up to three people play those at a time and then its kind of guitars. Have you guys ever heard of a charanga? It’s a tiny, almost a ukulele size stringed instrument, but they have like 12 strings and they play guitar chords – charanga. People just love this group,” said Hinckley. This group is a local favorite that plays Peruvian Mountain Music and will surely be a great evening outdoors.

Los Hermanos de los Andes purpose is to preserve and share their rich musical heritage using authentic ethnic instruments dating back to the ancient Inca civilization. “There’s just a kind of universal feeling to it that you just like, instantly feel like you’re crossing a culture and experiencing a different culture but the music part of that brings your together that’s so fun,” said Hinckley. This group have been performing together for many years and are sure to put on a remarkable show for the folks of Carbon County.

The free outdoor summer concerts are a great way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of a busy work week. Spectators are reminded to bring their lawn chairs and blankets as they find a spot to sit and enjoy the band. Remember to invite family members, friends and neighbors out for an entertaining evening at the Price City Peace Garden on Main Street.

The next band scheduled to perform for Culture Connection on Thursday, July 20, will feature Foxy Grandpa, a pop/rock genre. To see this year’s concert schedule, visit Price City’s website at http://www.priceutah.net/
