spa-night

USU Extension-Carbon County is gearing up to host another DIY Craft Night on Tuesday, July 18 at 6:30 pm.  This course along with others scheduled throughout the summer months are a way for adults to come enjoy, create and connect with other members of the community while participating in some crafts. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Assistant Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences, Christina Pay to get all the details.

These courses have been taking place throughout the summer and people have enjoyed attending these classes. “We had a full house at the last one, and our full house is about 20 people, so that to us is a big success. They had a lot a fun, and I think the thing most of them commented was, how nice it was to be with other people, and to talk while they made their crafts,” said Pay. The classes are held inside the USU Extension Classroom at 751 East 100 North, Suite #1700.

This month’s DIY Craft Night has to do with a Spa Craft where you can make items to help relax and pamper yourself at home. “We are going to be making relaxing bath bombs, and sugar scrubs. I know that any woman, and probably a few men, who wouldn’t love to have some bath bombs to put in their tub, just to relax and unwind. So instead of paying someone else to do this, we’re going to teach you how to do it yourself. Like Dave brought up, when we were talking beforehand, this could turn in to either you know something to save you money or an entrepreneurial type business,” said Pay. The cost to attend this course is $10.00 it covers all your materials and supplies that you will need to make bath bombs and sugar scrubs.

The deadline to sign up for the DIY Craft Night is July 18 at noon. “Research shows that connection is very important and can benefit in so many ways – mentally, physically, our emotional well-being, they all benefit when we connect with others and share relationships,” said Pay. The course is for adults 18 years and older. Those interested in attending the class can register on https://www.eventbrite.com/ or if you have any questions call the USU Extension at (435) 636-3233.
