It’s time once again for another session of the Culture Connection Summer Concert Series on Thursday, July 20 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Peace Gardens with the group called Foxy Grandpa. Price City Council Member, Layne Miller and Program Coordinator, Ted Hinckley took time to speak with Castle Country Radio to share all the concert details.
Last week’s concert was a huge hit and the Peace Garden was full of guests who came out to see the Los Hermanos de los Andes. “The group was fabulous, the crowd was huge, over 300 people, we had a teachers’ conference in town. They arranged for several food trucks, by the end of the night, the food trucks were out of food. People hung around, at one point I counted over 300 people in the park, so it was terrific,” said Miller. The performance by Los Hermanos de los Andes is a crowd favorite each summer.
On Thursday, July 20 the band taking the Peace Garden stage is Foxy Grandpa “They delve into the classic rock; they play on the fun side. So if another group was going to play Come Together by The Beatles, which is a great classic song, these guys are going to most likely play I Want to Hold Your Hand or Ticket to Ride or you know, stuff that’s more poppy. They span from the 50s through modern stuff, just anything that is fun, these guys like to play,” said Hinckley. They’re a fun five-member group who met as music students at Southern Utah University in Cedar City.
The free outdoor summer concerts are a great way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of a busy work week. Spectators are reminded to bring their lawn chairs and blankets as they find a spot to sit and enjoy the band. Remember to invite family members, friends and neighbors out for an entertaining evening at the Price City Peace Garden on Main Street.
The next band scheduled to perform for Culture Connection on Thursday, July 27, will be Rupert Wates who is a Welsh guitar crooner. To see this year’s concert schedule, visit Price City’s website at http://www.priceutah.net/
