How does one bid farewell to a sweet, loving man who will resonate in your heart forever?

Kelly was born on February 1, 1950 to James Williams and Alida Pendleton in Middletown, Ohio. He was later adopted by Raymond & Patricia Alton. He graduated from Hurricane High School and later obtained his Master’s Degree from Southern Utah University.

Kelly’s enduring love story with his eternal companion, Cindy, began in 1974, in the Manti Temple. Prior to his passing, they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed mountain rides, spending time with children and grandchildren, and watching baseball and basketball games.

Kelly worked many years as an educator for the Emery County School District, in the local coal mines, and voluntarily served in the Manti Temple for 10 years. Kelly was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served and greatly fulfilled many callings and capacities. He had a very strong testimony of the gospel which he shared often.

Kelly talked to everyone in the world and often found something of shared interest to carry on a lengthy conversation. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping, and has traveled every dirt road he could find. Kelly loved his four-legged buddy, Trip. He coached his children’s sports teams and many other youth in Emery County. Since retirement, he has spent countless hours babysitting and building meaningful relationships with his grandchildren; especially his grandson with disabilities.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Shawn (Sydnee) Alton of Enoch, Utah, Casey (Kerrie) Alton of Price, Utah, Crystal (Stephen) Tallerico of Helper, Utah, and Craig Rowley of Orangeville, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; his daughter, Robyn Rowley; and many siblings.
