The Lady Dino soccer squad opened the season on Thursday in Roosevelt to take on Union.  Unfortunately, the game didn’t go the way Carbon had hoped and they fell 3-1.

Union came out in the first half scoring the only goal for both sides, taking a 1-0 lead into the locker room at the half.

Carbon came out looking to put one in the back of the net in the second half and Lady Dino Bailey Johnson did just that, scoring the lone goal for the Dinos. The Cougars would add a pair of goals in the second half to pull away and win the contest 3-1.

Union’s Haley Foote put two goals through the pipes, while Makynlee Smith added the other.

Carbon will need a short memory as they will travel to Millard next Tuesday to face the Eagles. They will face their first region opponent, North Sanpete in the home opener on Thursday, game time is set for 4:00p.m..
