The 4H Young Entrepreneur Program is excited to host an Entrepreneurial Showcase at the Carbon County Fair from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Carbon County Senior Citizen Center on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with 4-H Program Coordinator, DeLayna Barr to get all the details.

“You know it’s been fun to learn and grow, as they’ve had this curriculum they’ve learned from marketing, customer service, and finances. Getting their product design ready, it’s been quite an adventure and education to see them learn and grow,” said Barr. The participants were able to work closely with Amanda Paiz, Owner/Operator of Marketing Elevated, as well as with Ethan Migliori who works at USU Eastern. Both of these individuals guided and encouraged the students to come up with a marketing and business plan.

Shoppers will be surprised at the unique business ideas that they will see by the young entrepreneurs at the county fair. “We’ve got from melted bead keychains, to wizard wands & other magical things, stickers for your water bottles, jewelry – really pretty jewelry that we got, Kate’s Famous Brownies, twisty balloons, lemonade, and more. This is so exciting to see what they’ve come up with,” stated Barr. The students have been working so hard all summer long to develop their new business so that they could share their product with consumers during the county fair.

Consumers are encouraged to ask the young entrepreneurs about the development of their business, as well as their product. “These kids have been preparing and its so good for the kids to talk with adults and to get their interaction and feed back and this county is just really great at being positive and helping the youth,” said Barr.
