
The 2023-2024 cross country season kicked off on Saturday and for the Carbon Dinos, it was back to work for reigning State Champion Rozlyn Stowe and the girls team, as Stowe grabbed the top spot on the ladies side and the Carbon girls topped the field. The boys finished the day in third.
Union finished in second place on the ladies side behind the Dinos, followed by Morgan, Juan Diego and Grantsville.
Stowe picked up right where she left off last season with another first place finish turning in a time of 17:56.7, ahead of second place Jaylie Jenkins of Union and her time of 18:11.4. Sophia Taylor finished the day in sixth, with Ada Bradford and Ellie Hanson finishing in eighth and ninth respectively, and Alexa Jones rounded out the Carbon top five in 15.
On the boys side of the course, Easton Humes earned the top finishing spot for the Dinos in ninth. Evan Criddle finished in 12, Logan McEvoy 14, Bradley Sweeney in 19 and Dallin Humes came in 22.
Next up for Carbon is the UIAAA Invitational at the Spanish Fork Sports Park on August 26.
