Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and longtime friend, Frank Saccomanno, age 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 13, 2023 in his home in Spring Glen while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 19, 1941 in Price, Utah to Ernest Saccomanno and Gladys Kenner. He married his one true love and soulmate Lee Rasmussen in Elko, NV on November 2, 1963.
Frank was born and raised in Spring Glen Utah, where he worked on the farm with his dad. There, he learned to be one of the hardest working people around. He passed down this work ethic to his children and grandchildren. He spent two years in the military as an MP in The Presidio of San Francisco, and later returned to Spring Glen where he spent his career working for Utah Power & Light at the Carbon Plant.
Frank worked hard to provide for his family and expected all his kids to go to college and supported them in this effort. When Frank retired, he was instrumental in bringing pressurized irrigation to Spring Glen as the president of the Spring Glen Canal Company. He worked tirelessly, but joyfully, on his beloved farm, and with the help of his wife always had the most amazing garden, while continually fighting the deer invasion. Frank experienced a tragic farming accident in 2015 that he miraculously survived because of his strength and love of life and fought every day since to continue to live life to its fullest.
Frank was known for his quick wit, intelligence, and humor. He loved life and people always knew they were welcome because of the smile on his face. His wife and family were his true joy and love – he always enjoyed evening dinners at the kitchen table, holidays with his family, camping, and playing games.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Saccomanno; daughter, Natalie (Shannon) Saccomanno of Bayfield, CO, daughter, Lisa (Scott) Milovich of Eugene, OR, son, Frank (Judy) Saccomanno of Spring Glen, UT, and daughter, Bernedette Saccomanno of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Frank A. Saccomanno, Isaac E. Milovich, Abbie Saccomanno, and Jared J. Saccomanno; sister, Erna Lee Porter; and brothers and sisters in-law; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents (who he loved deeply and always talked about); siblings, Mary Ann Biljanic and Frances Hanson; and a friend and cousin Hughy Saccomanno.
