Putting the season-opening loss to Hillcrest behind them Carbon jumped on the road to Moab to face the Grand County Red Devils. Grand is never an easy place to play but the Dinos battled for four quarters taking the 21-12 win.

Carbon was eager to get back on the field after last week, even after the loss, with the first game of the season under their belts and another week of practice the Dinos headed to Moab.

The first quarter was almost like the Dinos and the Red Devils were just feeling each other out, looking to see who was going to flinch first. Most of the second quarter was the same way until, with less than a minute left, Carbon quarterback Stockton Kennedy found the end zone on a one-yard run, and with the Luke Brady point after the Dinos went into the locker room at the half up 7-0.

In the third quarter, Grand would come out and put their first points on the board but after a failed two-point attempt, still trailed the Dinos 7-6. The Dinos would take advantage and steadily work their way down the field capping it off with an Anthony Wilson one-yard run for another score and the Dinos were on top now 14-6.

Moving into the fourth quarter the Red Devils would put another score on the board but once again fell short on the extra point putting the score to 14-12. The Dinos shut the door on Grand once and for all with a 42-yard pass from Kennedy to Deagan Richards and Brady would send the kick home for the point after, putting Carbon up 21-12 for the win.

Kennedy ended the game going 14/30 with 171 yards throwing for a touchdown and ran four times for six yards and a score.

Stetson Poulson ran for 27 yards and Wilson went for 41 and a score. In the passing game, Eleke Lang had seven grabs for 47 yards and Richards had one reception for 42 yards and the score.

The Dinos will take on the Ogden Tigers Friday at home.
