Our dear mom Nancy Lea Allred, age 71, passed away on August 22, 2023.
Nancy was born on March 5, 1952 in Oceanside, CA. Nancy moved to Price, Utah when she was 16 years old and graduated from Carbon High School. She married Raymond Hansen, they had two children, Tracy and Mike; they later divorced. She married Frank Allred and later divorced.
Early in Nancy’s career she worked at the Utah State Capitol. After moving back to Price, she worked for the Utah Drivers License Division and then for the Utah Highway Patrol dispatch. She worked at Office Etc. for several years and a couple of other local businesses in Price before retiring in 2014.
Nancy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various Relief Society callings including the funeral committee. She loved helping and was great at preparing for and serving families during their time of loss.
Nancy was very talented and loved crocheting beautiful blankets. She loved sharing her creations with family and friends and one Christmas she crocheted a pair of hot pads for every family in her ward. She also loved quilting, creating beautiful intricate quilts with great details. Her attention to detail in everything she did was always amazing. Over the years she wrote poems and songs. Reading was a favorite, especially John Grisham books, and she enjoyed watching British comedies. For years Nancy vacationed every other summer in Texas. She looked forward to spending time there with her sister Judy Guy, niece Kathy Grahm, and nephew Max Droz and their families.
Nancy is survived by her children, Tracy (Travis) Coon of Price and Mike (Erin) Hansen of Wellington; grandchildren, Kassie (Austin) Damron, Tiffany Coon, Laythan Hansen, Tennysen Coon, Serenity, Cameron, and Nova Johnson; great-grandchildren, Abel Hansen and Lennox Damron; siblings, Judy (Curtis) Guy, John (Giovana) Adams, Hollis (Kim) Adams; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
She is now reunited with those that have gone before her: her mother, Vera Marsh; great-grandparents, Ival and Carl Wauge; and sister-in-law, Bea Adams.
We love you Mom and we look forward to the day we will see you again.
