The Emery Lady Spartan tennis team welcomed the Canyon View Falcons on Thursday taking the match 4-2 and moving the team to 2-3 on the season.

Emery began play back on August 8 and will continue regular season play until September 21 when region tournaments begin.

In the first singles match Brooklynn Ekker defeated Canyon View’s Aliyah Hathaway in straight sets 6-3 and 6-4. The Lady Spartan’s Cheyenne Bingham took care of Andrea Bezzant 7-6 (7-1), 6-0.

In the doubles matches, Emery’s Acelyn Migliori and Tailynn Minchey defeated Janeth Valerius and Maggie Nessen 6-2, 6-1. In second doubles, Julia Peterson and Kallee Oliver defeated Sarah Chamberlain and Jaynie Bergstrom 7-6 (7-3), 6-0.

The tennis team is back at it on Tuesday when they travel to North Sanpete.
