The Price City Library is a great place for students to go after-school as the library has a wide range of activities for students to participate in. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Library Assistant, Tonya Kulow to get all the details.

The library was very happy with the summer program this year as they saw lots of participation from community members. “We were quite busy in the summer, we had a lot of children’s programs going on in the summer and it was great to see all the members of the community coming in with their kids, bringing them to their programs, and participating here in the library,” said Kulow. They library is now gearing up for their after-school activities now that the summer is over and school has begun.

The library will be offering the Lego Club again this year. “Last year was our first year that we decided to have a Lego Club. It is on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and it’s for ages 8- to 11-year-olds. We are opening sign-ups, they start in September, just call us here at the library or come on in, sign your child up. There’s a limited space on that, we only have so many Legos and stuff. But it was really fun last year, and I’m excited to start it again this year,” stated Kulow. Parents whose kids are interested in signing up for the Lego Club can do so by calling the Library at (435) 636-3188.

Storytime is being offered again this year on Monday and Wednesday for preschool-aged kids. “On Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:00 am we have our story times. We do a craft, we read books, we have activities, of course we sing songs. We try if there’s a holiday that pops up, we try to have a little party that they can for Halloween like wear their costumes to feel like they are a part of something,” said Kulow. This is a great opportunity for kids to develop their concentration, social skills and communication skills while enjoying a fun activity at the library.

On September 20 Layne Miller will host another photography class using your phones.  “We are, that’s on September 20, at 6:00 pm. He’s going to be teaching a class with photography and with our phones. So you don’t need a camera, just bring that phone that’s always hooked to us somehow. He’s got some great ideas on how to take some great pictures,” said Kulow. You can sign up for the photography course by calling the library at (435) 636-3188.
