The world has lost a generous soul, and heaven gained a gentle lumberjack. Andrew Emil Larsen, has left us with a belly full of laughter, a heart full of love, and a world that’s a little less bright. Born on March 28, 1979 in Price, Utah, Andrew had the ability to light up any room he entered. Unfortunately, he left us on August 20, 2023, leaving us with a treasure trove of memories and laughter. As the son of Russell and Kathy and a beloved brother to Brett, Ruschelle, Jason, Jessica, and Scott, Andrew was the life and soul of the Larsen family. He was a gentle giant, a generous soul, and a creative genius with a chainsaw or cement truck. He worked as a Wild Land Fire Fighter, in Emergency Medical Services, as a Fire Fighter with Provo City, and as a Long-Haul Trucker. He was known for telling the funniest jokes while saving lives and trees.

Andrew’s education as a Paramedic and Wild Land Master Sawer prepared him for a career where he served others. But it was his passion for lapidary, his skills as an arborist, and his love for lumberjacking that truly defined him. He was a man who could swing an axe, climb a tree, and cut a gemstone. He loved playing in giant sandboxes with his tinker toy also known as a cement truck all while cracking a joke that would make you double over with laughter.

Andrew’s most significant accomplishment and source of pride was his beautiful family. His wife, Tamar Radandt Larsen, was his rock and complicit to many of his jokes. Together, they had a beautiful family that included, Teah, Rhegan, Tommy and his wife, Lauren, Palmer, Avelyn, known as Twig, and Andrena, who goes by DJ. Andrew was a doting grandpa to Easton, Aspen, Jaelyn, and Vison.

He was a favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews. It’s said that laughter is the best medicine, and Andrew was a master at doling out doses of joy. (Tamar’s middle name) He was a Yell Leader in college. His sense of humor was infectious, and his ability to find the funny in every situation was a gift that he shared generously with everyone he met.

Andrew was a larger-than-life character, a gentle soul with a roaring laugh, a generous heart, and a creative spirit. He was Neptune, the king of the sea, who ruled over his vast kingdom with a gentle hand and a hearty laugh. He was a man who lived life to the fullest and made sure everyone around him did the same.

So, let’s raise a glass, or better yet, swing an axe or grab a chainsaw in honor of Andrew Emil Larsen. He may have left us, but his laughter, his love, and his legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the jokes we share, and the lives he touched. He was a one-of-a-kind man who left an indelible mark on this world, and he will be dearly missed. But as Andrew would have wanted, let’s remember him with a smile on our faces and laughter in our hearts.

A Memorial Luncheon will be held in Andrew’s honor on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center (35 East Main Street) in Castle Dale.

Arrangements entrusted to Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center in San Mateo, Florida.
